About the Galapagos Conservation Trust

The Galapagos Conservation Trust (GCT) is a UK registered charity (registered number 1043470) set up to raise funds for, and awareness of, the conservation needs of the Galapagos Islands.

GCT works to contribute to the successful management of the Galapagos ecosystem and is the primary source of information and comment in the UK on conservation in the Galapagos Islands.

GCT was launched in April 1995 at the Royal Society in London, with the aim of conserving the ecosystems and biological diversity of the Galapagos archipelago. GCT works with the key institutions in Galapagos.

It is affiliated to the international network of Friends of Galapagos organisations, which is also represented in the USA, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, the Nordic Countries, and New Zealand.
