Join the Galapagos Conservation Trust in celebrating Blue-footed Booby Day on Friday 17 June to show your support for the unique creatures of Galapagos!

While they are most elegant in flight, Blue-footed Boobies are rather clumsy on the ground and this, coupled with their iconic courtship dance, earned them their name - 'booby' coming from the Spanish term 'bobo' meaning clown.  To see the dance Charles Darwin Foundation do the Booby! © GCTclick here.

So on Friday 17 June why not start your weekend early by celebrating these charismatic birds?  To join in the fun we are asking you to encourage all of your colleagues, family, friends or classmates to donate £2 each and make your feet blue like a Booby!  This can be done by wearing blue shoes, socks, or by using our template to create your own Booby feet.  Donating is as simple as a text message - just text 'BFBD11 £2' to 70070 - easy peasy!

Don't forget that you can also buy a GCT Blue-footed Booby tie, stylish at any occasion!

There are many ways to support Blue-footed Booby Day and we have created a downloadable fundraising pack (below), which you can print off or ask to be sent to you in the post. Keep up to date with the event and see how other people are getting involved by 'liking' our facebook page.
