COMING EVENTS
GCT events for 2008
Galapagos Day is an annual event attended by Galapagos members, supporters and experts. The evening starts with a reception where you are invited to speak to our experts and guest speakers over a glass of wine. There is also the opportunity to purchase merchandise from the various stalls located in the three receptions rooms.
Guests are asked to be seated in the lecture hall for a 7pm start, where they are welcomed by our Chairman. The guest speakers then take the stage and in past years we have been honoured to have our President, Andrew Marr, the BBC Natural History Unit and Tanya Streeter give exciting and informative visual lectures.
We hope that you will be able to join us for this social occasion. Please return to this page soon for more details and the announcement of our special guest speaker.
Ticket prices are: £25 lecture; £85 lecture and dinner. Tickets for the lecture, dinner and raffle are available now by booking online or through the GCT office. For further information, contact Abi in the GCT office by phoning 020 7629 5049 or emailing abigail@gct.org. Visit 2008 raffle for details of this year's raffle prizes.

GCT events for 2009
This is a special year for Galapagos and brings a year of celebrations, for a variety of reasons:
- The 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin
- The 150th anniversary of the publication of Origin of The Species
- The 50th anniversary of the founding of the Charles Darwin Foundation in Galapagos and the Galapagos National Park
Due to this significant year a collaboration of organisations across the UK has been set up, called Darwin200. They are all celebrating Darwin's 200th birthday in February 2009 with an exciting programme of activities starting from July 2008 to the end of 2009. For more information about Darwin200 and to view some of the activities, please visit www.darwin200.org.
GCT is currently in the process of organising a range of exciting events for 2009. This area of our website will be continually updated, as the arrangements progress.
